Lincoln, Placer County
Between 2000 and 2010 the population of Lincoln nearly quadrupled, a rate of growth few American cities matched over that decade. Much of the growth came from a large retirement community built on the south side and from new neighborhoods along Highway 65. The city sits about thirty miles northeast of Sacramento, where the valley floor meets the first Sierra foothills.
